City Florence Tours invites you to discover one of the most fascinating minds of the Renaissance, through this small group tour, we will take you to admire the most beloved Florentine places of the master Leonardo Da Vinci, telling the most amazing anecdotes about the life of the genius that revolutionized art, history and science throughout the world, also illustrating new details about his person and as the city of Florence appeared at the end of the fifteenth century.
The itinerary starts from the Bargello Museum, here you can hear the explanation of one of the most shocking drawings made by Leonardo, namely the one in which he represents the corpse of Bernardo Bandini in the moment after hanging (kept inside of the museum), to which he directly assisted. Subsequently, a few meters away, the guide will take you to visit Palazzo Gondi, the humble and ancient residence of the master, where there is an unfounded legend that tells that the Mona Lisa was painted in a room of the palace. Walking around the city with your guide, you will arrive in the square of the Uffizi Gallery, where you can admire, among the statues of the artists who made Florence great, also that of Leonardo. Continuing the visit, you will walk through Piazza Della Signoria and looking towards the Palazzo Vecchio, the guide will explain you the famous Battle of Anghiari, a wall painting made by Leonardo and commissioned for the Salone dei 500, which is located inside the palace. Turning your back on the building, you will admire the Loggia dei Lanzi, where, according to Leonardo, after a dispute with the most important artists of the time, the David (made by Michelangelo) had to be postionated. Continuing your visit, you will arrive in the medieval quarter of Florence, admiring the House of Dante Alighieri and after you will arrive in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, to admire the Dome created by Filippo Brunelleschi, with machines designed by Leonardo Da Vinci, on own notebooks. The last stop of our visit will be the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, we will enter inside to visit this small museum entirely dedicated to the master, containing replicas and drawings of the main machines made by the genius.
